Google and Adobe Prepare to Take On Apple

Right now, Apple is pretty much dominating the internet sconce. Thanks mostly to the iPad which totally changes the whole web experience, their decision to not support Flash has actually made some websites conform to being iPad friendly (as opposed to the iPad being made to be more compatible with existing websites). You can get phone deals for all Apple phones at Moby1, including Apple iPhone 4. If you compare these deals you can even find mobile phones with free gifts.

However, Apple’s days of web domination are numbered with the announcement that many new tablet devices are coming. Sure, they will not be as spiffy or as stylish as the iPhone, but these devices will come armed to the teeth with functions and more importantly, Flash support.

The move would also see the same apps being developed on other platforms, but at least it will not be on the iPhone OS. It has even been said that Android devices were being handed out to former Apple developers in order to show them the vast potential of the open source Android mobile platform.

Google is definitely coming out with a tablet, and be it a Chrome or Android device, it will have Flash support. Yes, Flash and AIR are both coming to the Android smart phone with the upcoming version 2.2 Froyo. No word yet on when the actual OS will be coming out, but it has been confirmed by Andy Rubin himself.

Even in the smart phone market, Flash’s continuous presence would certainly be a testament to its importance to the internet. While HTML5 is indeed proving to be a worthwhile technology to invest in, right now, Flash is still the norm and no amount of pushing from Apple will force the transition to happen faster.

In fact, many consider Apple’s moves against Adobe as being outright wrong and many even feel that Adobe should take the Cupertino based company to court.
