ASUS EEE PC 1008P KARIM RASHID EDITION REVIEWED
Engadget has posted a review of the Asus Eee PC 1008P Karim Rashid Edition. Measuring just 1 inch in thickness, the Karim Rashid edition is one of the thinnest netbooks available in the market at the moment. The device also sports distinctive looks, thanks to its designer lid inspired by crocodiles.
The Eee PC 1008P ships with Atom N450, Windows 7 Home Premium, a 320GB hard drive, 2GB of RAM and a removable battery. It is available in hot pink or chocolate brown. In looks the netbook isn’t much different from the Eee PC 1008HA. While the folks at Engadget are mighty pleased with its design, they found the battery life to be subpar. The netbook lasted for just 3 hours and 20 minutes in a video rundown test. In fact, the Eee PC 1005PE lasted well over 8 hours in the same test. Interestingly while the 1005PE retails for well under $400, the Eee PC 1008P carries a price tag of $499. Of course that price includes Windows 7 Home Premium, extra memory and a designer lid. But it would have been nicer if Asus shipped the netbook with a higher capacity battery.
